Getting there and around: Packages include road transfers and sightseeing as specified, from Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Itanagar or Dimapur. Mountain roads are long and slow. Flights, permits and special-area vehicles (such as for Bum La) are quoted or paid locally.
Where you stay: Standard / 3-star equivalent hotels where available, with breakfast; in remote places (Mechuka, Mon, Longwa, Khonoma, Dzukou) stays are simple homestays, guesthouses or rest houses.

- Carry warm clothes for Tawang and the Sela pass at any time of year.
- Mountain roads can close for landslides or snow; keep a spare day.
