Khardung La
The pass on the road from Leh to Nubra, around 39 km from Leh; our itineraries list it at 18,390 ft.
Nubra Valley
About 120 km (5–6 hours) from Leh: Diskit monastery, the Hunder sand dunes and Bactrian camel rides.
Pangong Lake
About 140 km (5–6 hours) from Leh via Chang La: a long, blue high-altitude lake that crosses into Tibet.

Getting there and around: Most travellers fly to Leh (IXL). Itineraries include arrival and departure transfers and sightseeing as specified; several include a private vehicle with driver and the Nubra and Pangong permit charges, as listed on each package.
Where you stay: Our Ladakh packages include accommodation as indicated in each itinerary or similar, with breakfast, and dinner on packages that list it. Heater charges are listed as extra where they apply.
- Rest on the first day in Leh and drink plenty of water to acclimatise; avoid exertion until you feel well.
- Consult a doctor before travelling if you have heart, lung or blood-pressure conditions.
- Carry warm layers, sunscreen and sunglasses — the sun is strong and nights are cold, even in summer.
- Only postpaid mobile connections work reliably in Ladakh; network is limited at Nubra and Pangong.
- Carry cash — ATMs are limited outside Leh.
