About 83 km (3–4 hours) from Srinagar by road; the helicopter route starts at Neelgrath near Baltal.
Pahalgam & Chandanwari
The trek route starts at Chandanwari near Pahalgam and climbs to Sheshnag (about 13 km).
Panchtarni
The helicopter from Baltal lands at Panchtarni, about 6 km from the holy cave, which is covered on foot or by pony.

The shrine of the ice lingam, reached on foot, by pony or palki.

Things to consider
Getting there and around: Fly to Srinagar; packages include pick-up and drop and a private cab for all road transfers. The final stretch to the cave is on foot, by pony or palki.
Where you stay: Deluxe category hotels on twin sharing, with houseboat nights in several itineraries, and breakfast and dinner. Accommodation on the trek route is in camps as per the itinerary.

- Carry warm clothes, rain gear, sturdy shoes and photo ID.
- Helicopter flights depend on weather; keep a buffer day if you can.
