Day 1 — Arrive in Bhubaneswar
Arrive at Bhubaneswar airport or railway station, where our representative meets you. In the afternoon, tour the temples of the "City of Temples": the 11th-century Lingaraj (seen from the viewing platform by non-Hindus), the Parasurameswara and Mukteswara, and the Rajarani with its graceful carved figures, then climb to the rock-cut Jain cells of Udayagiri (entry paid locally). Overnight stay in Bhubaneswar.

Day 2 — Bhubaneswar to Puri
After breakfast, drive to Puri (about 60 km), stopping at Dhauli, where Emperor Ashoka turned to Buddhism after the Kalinga war, and at Pipili, the village of appliqué work. Evening on the beach. Overnight stay in Puri.

Day 3 — Jagannath and Konark
Early darshan at the Jagannath temple, then head up the Marine Drive to Konark (about 35 km) and its Sun Temple, the "Black Pagoda" of old sailors, whose wheels double as sundials; the archaeological museum next door holds carvings from the temple (entry paid locally). Return by Chandrabhaga beach. Overnight stay in Puri.

Day 4 — Chilika to Gopalpur
After breakfast, drive to Satapada on the Chilika lagoon, Asia's largest brackish-water lagoon, for a boat trip to see the Irrawaddy dolphins and the sea mouth where the lagoon meets the Bay of Bengal (boat paid locally). Continue round the lagoon to Gopalpur-on-Sea. Overnight stay in Gopalpur.

Day 5 — Gopalpur to Daringbadi
Drive into the hills by the Taptapani hot springs to Daringbadi, the pine-and-coffee hill station of Kandhamal. Overnight stay in Daringbadi.
