In short: Shillong, Cherrapunji and Shnongpdeng is a 5-night, 6-day tour that also covers Guwahati and Dawki. It starts in Guwahati and ends in Guwahati. It includes daily breakfast. The itinerary can be customised.

Hill roads are slow and travel times are approximate. Boat rides, safaris, cave and park entry fees are paid locally. Meghalaya is wettest from June to September, when some trails are slippery but the waterfalls are at their fullest. Stays at Shnongpdeng are simple riverside guesthouses or camps.
Our representative meets you at Guwahati airport or station for the climb into the Khasi Hills to Shillong (about 3 hours). Break the drive at the Umiam reservoir, ringed by pine hills. In the evening, browse the stalls of Police Bazar. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Today is for Sohra (Cherrapunji), long known as one of the wettest places on earth: the gorge view at Mawkdok, the falls of Nohkalikai and the Seven Sisters, a walk through Mawsmai cave, and the edge of the plateau at the Eco Park, where the Bangladesh plains spread out below (entry fees paid locally). Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

Drive to Shnongpdeng on the Umngot river upstream of Dawki. Afternoon by the river: boating, a swing bridge, and kayaking or snorkelling in the clear water in the dry season (activities paid locally). Overnight stay in a riverside guesthouse or camp at Shnongpdeng.

A morning by the river, then visit the Dawki border market and drive back to Shillong. Overnight stay in Shillong.

After breakfast, see Shillong: the Don Bosco Museum of the North-East's cultures, Ward's Lake, the Elephant Falls and the view from Shillong Peak (entry fees paid locally; the peak is in an Air Force area and needs ID). Overnight stay in Shillong.

A last morning in the hills, then the road down from Shillong to Guwahati (about 100 km) and your onward connection. The tour ends here.
