Forest entry, jeep safaris and boating are run by the forest department or local operators, are limited in number and are paid locally. The hills are wet from June to September.
Arrive at Kochi airport or Ernakulam station, where our representative meets you, and drive east into the hills to Idukki (about 110 km). Visit the Idukki arch dam, built between the Kuravan and Kurathi hills, and the Cheruthoni dam (open to visitors only on announced dates). Overnight stay in Idukki.

Drive up to the Kalvari Mount viewpoint over the Idukki reservoir, then through tea and cardamom country to Ramakkalmedu (about 60 km), one of the windiest places in India, with its wind farm and the Kuravan–Kurathi statue on the hill overlooking the Tamil Nadu plains. Overnight stay near Ramakkalmedu.

Walk on the ridge at sunrise, then visit a cardamom estate and a tea estate of the Idukki high range, and the Thoovalpara viewpoint. Overnight stay near Ramakkalmedu.

After breakfast, drive back to Kochi (about 150 km) for your onward journey. The tour ends here.
