The Gangasagar Mela at Makar Sankranti (mid-January) is extremely crowded and needs separate planning. Stays on the island are simple. Ferries are paid locally and depend on the tide.
Our representative meets you in Kolkata for the drive south to Harwood Point at Kakdwip (about 100 km), then the vessel across the Muriganga to Kachuberia on Sagar island (ferry paid locally) and the road to Gangasagar (about 30 km). Evening at the beach where the Ganga meets the Bay of Bengal. Overnight stay on Sagar island (simple stays).

Take the holy dip at the confluence at dawn and have darshan at the Kapil Muni temple, where the sage is said to have meditated and freed King Sagar's sons. Later, visit the Sagar lighthouse and the island villages. Overnight stay on Sagar island.

After breakfast, the ferry back to Kakdwip and the drive to Kolkata for your onward journey. The tour ends here.
