Arrive at Satna railway station, where our representative meets you, and drive to Chitrakoot (about 75 km), where Rama, Sita and Lakshmana spent their years of exile. Evening aarti at Ramghat on the Mandakini river; a boat is optional (paid locally). Overnight stay in Chitrakoot.

Walk the parikrama of the sacred Kamadgiri hill (about 5 km), then visit Gupt Godavari, a cave stream, the Sati Anusuya ashram in the forest, Sphatik Shila and the Hanuman Dhara temple on the cliff (ropeway paid locally). Overnight stay in Chitrakoot.

Drive to Maihar (about 110 km) for darshan at the Sharda Devi temple on Trikuta hill, up 1,063 steps or by ropeway (paid locally). Overnight stay in Maihar.
Overnight: Maihar
After an early darshan, drive to Satna (about 40 km) for your onward journey; Maihar also has its own railway station. The tour ends here.

Breakfast, as per the package plan: breakfast at your hotel in Chitrakoot and Maihar each morning after an overnight stay, so 3 breakfasts (Day 2 to Day 4). Other meals are included only where specifically stated; lunch and dinner are otherwise at your own cost.

Best time: October to March is the best time to visit Madhya Pradesh; the tiger reserves are open from October to June.
