Mountain roads are slow and can close for landslides in the monsoon or snow in winter. Paragliding, ropeways, local taxis and entry fees are paid locally.
Arrive in Manali, where our representative meets you. Walk to the Hadimba temple in the cedar forest and the lanes and cafés of Old Manali, then the Manu temple above the Manalsu river. Overnight stay in Manali.

Drive down the left bank of the Beas to Naggar (about 22 km), the old capital of Kullu. Visit the 15th-century Naggar castle of stone and timber with its museum, and the Roerich art gallery in the house of the painter Nicholas Roerich. Overnight stay in Naggar.

Drive up to the Jana falls through apple orchards for a lunch of local Himachali food (paid locally), then walk to the Gauri Shankar and Tripura Sundari temples in Naggar village. Overnight stay in Naggar.

After breakfast, return to Manali (about 22 km), with time for the Vashisht hot springs or the Tibetan monastery before your onward journey. The tour ends here.
