Registration with Uttarakhand Tourism is compulsory for every pilgrim. The temples are open only from about April/May to October/November; the dates are announced each year. The night at Kedarnath is in basic guest houses or camps.
After breakfast, drive from Dehradun to Barkot (about 140 km, 5–6 hours) by way of Mussoorie, with a stop at Kempty Falls. Overnight stay in Barkot.

Early in the morning, drive to Janki Chatti (about 45 km) and walk up to Yamunotri (about 6 km), or go by pony or palki (paid locally). Bathe at the hot spring, offer prayers at the Divya Shila and Surya Kund, and have darshan at the Yamunotri temple. Walk down and drive back to Barkot. Overnight stay in Barkot.

After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi (about 100 km, 4 hours) on the Bhagirathi. Visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple in the evening. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Early in the morning, drive to Gangotri (about 100 km, 3–4 hours) through Harsil and past the hot springs at Gangnani. Bathe in the Bhagirathi, have darshan at the Gangotri temple and drive back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

After breakfast, drive to Guptkashi (about 220 km, 8–9 hours) by way of Tehri and Srinagar (Garhwal). Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Very early, drive to Sonprayag and take the local shared jeep to Gaurikund (paid locally). Walk the trail to Kedarnath (about 16 km), or go by pony, palki or doli (paid locally); helicopter seats from Phata, Sersi or Guptkashi are booked separately on the official portal. Darshan and evening aarti at the Kedarnath temple. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

Morning darshan at Kedarnath, then walk down to Gaurikund and drive back to Guptkashi. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

After breakfast, drive from Guptkashi to Badrinath (about 200 km, 7–8 hours) by way of Chamoli and Joshimath. Bathe at the Tapt Kund and attend the evening aarti at the Badrinath temple. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Early morning darshan at Badrinath, then visit Mana village (about 3 km) with the Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul. Drive back to Rudraprayag (about 160 km). Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

After breakfast, drive to Dehradun (about 180 km, 6–7 hours) for your onward journey. The yatra ends here.

Other meals are included only where specifically stated; lunch and dinner are otherwise at your own cost.
