Do Dham Yatra: Kedarnath and Badrinath in 5 or 6 days
If you cannot spare 10 days for the full Char Dham, the Do Dham Yatra to Kedarnath and Badrinath fits into under a week.
The 5-day plan
- Haridwar to Guptkashi (about 220 km, 8–9 hours).
- Guptkashi to Kedarnath and back (road to Sonprayag, then the trek).
- Guptkashi to Badrinath (about 160 km, 7 hours).
- Badrinath to Rudraprayag via Joshimath.
- Rudraprayag to Haridwar (about 165 km, 5–6 hours).
The 6-day plan
The 6-day version stays overnight at Kedarnath, so the trek is split over two days. It is more comfortable for most pilgrims and allows a calmer darshan.
Badrinath and Mana
Badrinath temple sits on the Alaknanda river, with the Tapt Kund hot spring below. Mana village, a few kilometres away near the border, is worth a visit for Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul.
Who it suits
Pilgrims with limited time, first-time yatris, and anyone who has already done Yamunotri and Gangotri. The season and registration rules are the same as for the full Char Dham.
