Valmiki Tiger Reserve is usually open from about November to June. Safaris, boats and entry fees are paid locally; stays are simple eco-lodges. Tiger sightings cannot be promised.

Day 1 — Patna to Valmikinagar
Arrive at Patna airport or station, where our representative meets you, and drive north through Champaran to Valmikinagar on the Nepal border (about 300 km, 7 hours), on the Gandak river below the Shivalik hills. Overnight stay at Valmikinagar (simple eco-stays).

Day 2 — Valmiki Tiger Reserve
A morning jeep safari in Valmiki Tiger Reserve, Bihar's only tiger reserve, for leopards, sloth bears, deer and many birds, with tigers seen only rarely (safari paid locally). In the afternoon, a boat on the Gandak (paid locally) and the Gandak barrage. Overnight stay at Valmikinagar.

Day 3 — Forest and Tharu villages
A second safari or a forest walk with a guide, and a visit to a Tharu village to see their farming and crafts. Overnight stay at Valmikinagar.

Day 4 — Valmikinagar to Patna
After breakfast, drive back to Patna (about 300 km), with a stop at Bettiah or the Bhitiharwa ashram of Gandhiji's Champaran satyagraha if time allows. The tour ends here.

- Air and train tickets need full payment.

- A booking voucher is issued once payment is received.
- Extra adult 35% and extra child 25% of the package cost (children below 5 complimentary).
- If a listed hotel is unavailable, accommodation is arranged in a hotel of similar standard.
- Transport is provided as per the itinerary and is not at disposal; sightseeing depends on the time available.
- Cancellation 30 days or more before departure: non-refundable deposit (25% of the total package).
- Between 29 and 20 days before departure: non-refundable deposit + 25% of the holiday cost.
- Between 19 and 14 days before departure: non-refundable deposit + 50% of the holiday cost.
- Between 13 and 8 days before departure: non-refundable deposit + 75% of the holiday cost.
- Within 7 days of departure: 100% of the holiday cost.
- Any refund due is paid after Holiday Guru Travel receives the refund from the service providers; processing charges are deducted.
