Mountain roads are slow and can close for landslides in the monsoon or snow in winter. Paragliding, ropeways, local taxis and entry fees are paid locally.
Our representative meets you at Chandigarh airport or station for the drive into the hills via Mandi and Joginder Nagar to Barot (about 250 km, 7 hours), a quiet valley on the Uhl river ringed by deodar forest. Evening walk by the river. Overnight stay in Barot.

A day in the valley: the trout farm on the Uhl, the old haulage line and reservoir of the Shanan hydel project, and walks into the Nargu wildlife sanctuary towards Lohardi village for pheasants and the Himalayan views. Overnight stay in Barot.

Drive to Bir (about 40 km), the Tibetan settlement below the Billing take-off site. Visit the Chokling and Sherab Ling monasteries and the tea gardens; tandem paragliding from Billing is optional in season (paid locally). Overnight stay in Bir.

After breakfast, drive back to Chandigarh (about 230 km), stopping at the Baijnath Shiva temple on the way, for your onward journey. The tour ends here.
