Arrive at Gwalior airport or station, where our representative meets you. Spend the afternoon in Gwalior fort, with the blue-tiled Man Mandir palace, the Teli ka Mandir and the Sas-Bahu temples, and the giant Jain figures cut in the rock at Gopachal (entry paid locally). Evening light-and-sound show at the fort. Overnight stay in Gwalior.

After breakfast, visit the Jai Vilas Palace museum of the Scindias, with its giant chandeliers, and Tansen's tomb. Drive to Orchha (about 120 km), stopping at the seven-storey Datia palace. Evening aarti at the Ram Raja temple. Overnight stay in Orchha.

A day among Orchha's palaces, the Chaturbhuj and Lakshminarayan temples with their murals, and the chhatris on the Betwa at sunset (entry paid locally). Overnight stay in Orchha.

After breakfast, drive to Jhansi (about 18 km) and see the fort where Rani Lakshmibai fought in 1857 before your train or onward journey. The tour ends here.
